Michael Mann及Michael De Luca先前宣布联手把Mark Bowden所著的《顺化战役 Hue 1968》改篇成8至10小时的迷你剧，FX宣布拿下该部剧集。过去Mark Bowden所著的《Black Hawk Down》就曾经改篇成经典电影《黑鹰坠落》。《顺化战役》一书用了Mark Bowden 5年时间写作，已于6月时出版。 　　迷你剧将由Michael Mann执导大部份集数﹑Michael De Luca负责制片；1968年1月30日开始的顺化战役是越战中一段漫长又血腥的历史，当年南越军﹑美国陆军﹑海军陆战队于顺化市反攻越南人民军及越共游击部队，虽然最终南越及美军赢得军事胜利，但顺化古城受到严重破坏﹑过5千平民被杀﹑南越及美军亦有不少伤亡，这令美国对越战的支持率下滑。 　　在Mark Bowden的书中会以多个人物的角度描述这场血腥战役，以此明确表示越战对美国是「赢不了的战争」。人物包括一个无辜﹑日常骑自行车的女学生，她因为姐妹被处死而成为革命的一份子，并协助走私武器，而一个从宾夕法尼亚州而来的通讯兵Jim Coolican上尉，即将退役的他梦想回到家乡，不过他也沉浸在当地文化及语言中，试图向上司表示顺化市已经被步兵所蹂躏。另外远在白宫的美国总统Lyndon Johnson与上将William Westmoreland（他吹嘘美军战果，被当时的人认为是个战争贩）在夜间对越战的意见内容，于未来的五角大楼文件泄漏事件中成为争议主题。（证实Lyndon Johnson对公众及国会撒谎，让美国积极介入越战。）

Le Grand Charles was a 2006 French TV-drama on the life of Charles de Gaulle from 1939 to 1959, written and directed by Bernard Stora. De Gaulle was played by Bernard Farcy, Winston Churchill by David Ryall, and Franklin D. Roosevelt by Robert Hardy. Other actors in the cast included Dominic Gould, Sam Spiegel and Jay Benedict.
